 DIRECTOR'S CORNER

 F. Scott Lane

Transportation Director

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

For your information, I have listed below some basic policies regarding OKCPS school bus transportation:

1.     1. Students who live more than 1.5 miles from their home school are eligible for school bus transportation.
  2. Riding the school bus is a privilege.
  3. For the safety of all riders, students are to remain seated and keep the noise level down while riding the school bus.
  4. School bus rules are basically the same as classroom rules.
  5. Students need to be at their bus stops 10 minutes prior to the actual stop time.

Our goal is to provide safe, courteous, and on-time transportation for the OKCPS students.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is a question or concern you have regarding the OKCPS transportation system.

Assistant and/or Driver of the Month

We are proud of our assistants and drivers. Two people we are highlighting are Mr. Charles Taylor and Mr. Don Matthews.

Charles Taylor has been with Oklahoma City Public Schools for 16 years and currently drives a school bus out of the Spencer bus yard. Mr. Taylor has had excellent attendance. In addition, he is always willing to drive an extra route and, most importantly, with a great attitude.

Don Matthews has been with Oklahoma City Public Schools for 21 years and currently drives a school bus out of the Service Center bus yard. Mr Matthews always has a great attitude and has willingly accepted the additional challenge of transporting a service dog this school year. He has made this challenge an opportunity for learning.
